Welcome to the home of the London Baptists Ministers Conference 2026!

We're looking forward to our Ministers Conference in 2026 which will be held at High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon from the 9th-11th February 2025.

The conference will have the usual mix of worship, talks, discussion, seminars, workshops and time to relax with other ministers from the association. Worship will be led by our inhouse band. We look forward to welcoming you!

Crossroads: The Church Between Renewal and Reaction

The Church stands at a crossroads — pulled between renewal and reaction, fear and hope. In an age of noise and division, we are called to rediscover the quiet, faithful way of Christ. This gathering invites us to listen for the Spirit, resist the pull of ideology, and seek the road that leads to true renewal.

We're very excited to welcome our keynote speakers Rev Dr Helen Paynter and Phil Knox to the conference.

Rev Dr Helen Paynter is Director of Theological Education and Tutor in Biblical Studies at Bristol Baptist College. She is also the founding director of the College’s Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, which exists to facilitate cutting-edge research in the areas of hermeneutics of biblical violence and the abuse of the Bible in a violent world, and to serve the churches by providing resources in these areas. Helen has a Masters in Missional Church Leadership, another Masters in Biblical Studies, and a PhD in Old Testament. Her most recent publication is Blessed are the Peacemakers: A biblical theology of human violence (Zondervan, 2023)

Phil Knox is an evangelist and missiologist at the Evangelical Alliance. He is passionate about making Jesus known and the power of friendship. He loves learning and has degrees in law and mission and evangelism. Phil is married to Dani and they have two sons, Caleb and Jos. He is an avid runner, enthusiastic waterskier and once broke the world record for the longest five-a-side football match. He is also an award winning performance poet and author of Story Bearer and The Best of Friends

We'll also be hearing from the Rev Kwame Adzam of BMS World Mission and Rev Tim Fergusson & Rev Phil Barnard and the Regional Team who will be looking at the future of ministerial formation, as well as an update on the life of BU and London Baptists.
