Welcome to the home of the London Baptists Ministers Conference 2025!
We're looking forward to our Ministers Conference in 2025 which will be held at High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon from the 10th-12th February 2025.
The conference will have the usual mix of worship, talks, discussion, seminars, workshops and time to relax with other ministers from the association. Worship will be led by our inhouse band. We look forward to welcoming you!
We're very excited to welcome our keynote speakers Rev Lisa Holmes and Mary Evans to the conference.
Lisa was commended for ministry by London Baptists and has been a Baptist minister for 30 years. The majority of that time was at Skipton Baptist Church, North Yorkshire where she was Lead Minister for the last 8 years. In September 2021 she took up a role on the National Team of the Baptist Union of Scotland as Deeper Church lead focussing on spiritual formation, prayer, leadership and pastoral care of ministers. She is also on the Spring Harvest Planning Group and the EA Council. She is currently training to become a Spiritual Director with the organisation Sustainable Faith. She is married to Mike with 2 final year Uni student children, one cat and a whippet. She lives near Loch Lomond and enjoys hiking and the outdoors, music and chats with friends.
Mary Evans is a visiting lecturer in Old Testament and former Academic Dean at the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology, Addis Ababa, and a former lecturer at the London School of Theology where she had the pleasure(!) of teaching our own RMTL, Rev Phil Barnard. She has written a number of books including commentaries on 1 & 2 Samuel, Judges & Ruth. She is passionate about helping people to understand the Old Testament as it is written, not as we were taught in Sunday School. Mary is a member of a local Baptist Church near her home in Greater Manchester.
We'll also be hearing from conference regular, Rev Kwame Adzam about the work of the BMS and Rev Phil Barnard will be bringing us an update on life in London Baptists.
This conference is open to ministers in London Baptist Churches. You should have received an email telling you how to book, but if you've missed it, email Nigel Redford using the contact form below and he will send you the details. The programme can be downloaded below.
