For more than 30 years, Chris has served churches across South London. After giving up a lifelong dream to be a journalist Chris trained at Spurgeon’s College, then began his ministry at Brixton Baptist Church in 1994 where he served for 10 years. He became actively involved in working with young men at risk, setting up a mentoring charity to support them. He then joined BMS World Mission as a Regional Coordinator, before moving to Christian Aid, where he served in a similar role, visiting Uganda, Indonesia and Brazil to experience their work.
Chris returned to pastoral ministry at Clapham Baptist Church in 2014, where he served for 11 years. During this time, he developed a particular specialism in Interim Ministry, supporting churches through pastoral vacancies in Brixton, Perry Rise and Streatham.
Chris lives in South London, is married to Pat, a retired headteacher, and they have two children. He enjoys reading, listening to music, swimming and discovering some of the best coffee shops south of the river.
